Neraldo de La Paz [b. 1955]
Cuban born American artists Alain Guerra and Neraldo de la Paz are the collabortive duo Guerra de la Paz . Originally sourcing their materials from the waste bins of second-hand goods shipping companies in Miami’s Little Haiti, Guerra De La Paz make their sculptures from the discarded items of daily life. Viewing their practice as a kind of ‘archaeology’, their work engages with the history inherent in common debris and its possibility for recycled usage.

TRIBUTE – by Guerra de La Paz
2002 – 2012/ Fabric
Guerra de La paz, the team of artists Alain Guerra abd Neraldo de la Paz, collected and arranged old and worn garment of various colors to assemble Tribute. This rainbow of ordinary clothing act as a memorial to people we did not know, cannot recognize or cannot remember. The garment proves their manufacturers’ and former wearers’ existence, as surely skeleton proves that the person was once alive.
